Yin Yoga is essentially a tool for finding balance. It is a complimentary practice to other more active forms of movement and is often called the “other half of yoga.” It is not meant to be our only practice but for many people, Yin Yoga is the missing link. It has an ability to calm our nervous system and help us to get physically unstuck. As the practice naturally encourages introspection, we become more self-aware and learn to look to ourselves for guidance rather than turning outward for the answers. This can have a huge impact on our quality of life.


Join Megan for this weekend Immersion exploring the philosophy and practice of Yin Yoga. We'll do an in-depth study of the Yin postures as we carefully consider how to best modify the shapes to meet the needs of the individual.  Much of our time studying Skeletal Variations and the work of Paul Grilley in order to gain a practical understanding of how to adapt the Yin postures to all body types. As we study these anatomical differences we'll also examine the common themes that thread throughout our more subtle energetic realms through the lens of Yoga + Daoism.


Friday night, the first segment of the training, will be a public workshop: Yin Yoga for Self-Care. This class will utilize the quiet and stretchy practice of Yin Yoga as a tool for finding balance in our over-stressed, over-worked minds and bodies.


Saturday and Sunday are designed for teachers, therapists and curious students to learn how to weave Yin into their existing practices. In addition, we will look at how to incorporate energy work, pranayama and meditation into our practice/teaching as well as learn ways to create a healing space through the use of poetry, music and language.



You can expect a balanced blend of lecture, discussion, personal practice and hands-on/partner work.


Upon completion of this course, students will receive 20 Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance.

  • skeletal variations

  • bones + fascia

  • yin/yang movements + theory

  • meridians + the elements

  • sequencing

  • creating space for practice
